How can civic society organisations and affected families engage with the review of free school meals eligibility criteria, currently being carried out by Welsh Government?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Education and the Welsh Language
At this stage of the review of eligibility criteria for free school meals officials are considering detailed and technical data sets that, for reasons of data protection, are not publicly available to inform wider discourse. They are also exploring the interdependencies across policy areas and programmes of work associated with free school meal eligibility. However, and as part of the work being undertaken by officials at this time, a wide range of evidence is also being considered, both from within Wales and across the UK, which captures the views of a range of stakeholders, including civic organisations and families. I have previously committed to providing an update on the progress of the review in September which will include how we plan to engage further.
