Will the Minister confirm whether Ministers were aware of the letter written by the Wales Cancer Research Group in November 2020 opposing a standalone cancer centre at the Northern Meadows?

The letter referred to from the Wales Cancer Research Centre’s External Advisory Board, to the Director of the Wales Cancer Research Centre, was shared with Welsh Government officials on 17 November 2020. The concerns raised were considered and subsequently reflected in advice to the Welsh Government’s NHS Infrastructure Investment Board. The Board gave comprehensive advice to the Minister for Health and Social Services on the implications of the clinical model for a new cancer centre, including consideration of the need to deliver early phase clinical trials.
