What plans does the Welsh Government have to introduce legislation to ensure that tenants, leaseholders and park home residents are able to install a water meter without requiring permission from the landowner?

I have no current plans to introduce legislation around the installation of water meters. The provisions in the Water Industry Act 1991, and that Act as amended by the Water Industry Act 1999 would seem to be sufficient for people who have a right to occupy their home for 6 months or more. It allows the occupier to make their own decisions around whether or not to apply to install a water meter. The Act is clear that a tenancy agreement with a term longer than 6 months cannot be used to prevent a tenant from having a water meter installed.
