Will the Minister confirm whether the proposed single-use plastic ban will include plastic-based wet wipes and cigarette filters?

We are continuing to explore a range of options in relation to phasing out single use plastic items, including items which were outside the scope of our Reducing Single Use Plastic consultation. Wet wipes and cigarette filters are among the list of over 60 additional items which have been identified as potentially requiring further action. Officials are in the process of gathering evidence on these items to determine the most appropriate course of action.
I can assure you the Welsh Government remains committed to delivering our ambition to abolish the use of the most commonly littered single use plastics in Wales. We will take all necessary steps to introduce legislation, as quickly as possible, within this Senedd term.
