Further to the publication of the co-operation agreement, will the Minister clarify the definition of 'less productive land' as stated under the tree planting section?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Climate Change
The development and implementation of this policy area in the Co-operation Agreement will be subject to further discussions with the Plaid Cymru designated lead member.
The Welsh Government wants farmers to be central to meeting our tree-planting targets in Wales. This includes the planting of ‘hedges and edges’. It also includes creating new woodlands on land that farmers judge to be less productive for food production. We want all new woodland creation to be done in a sustainable way which is consistent with the UK Forestry Standard.
