Responsibility for assessing the electricity needs of domestic and commercial properties in Wales, and providing the required supply, lies with the network operators. Connections are made based on the amount of electricity required within the property.
We have scrutinised the plans the network operators have submitted to Ofgem and consider if agreed, this will enable significant improvement in the distribution networks over the next five years as the uptake of heat pumps and EVs increases. Our work on detailed energy planning and Future Energy Grids for Wales work will provide clarity on the networks needed for net zero.
