Will the Minister commit to ensure people with lived experience of eating disorders, including families, are always involved in helping to improve services in Wales, at both the national and local level?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Mental Health and Wellbeing
We will continue our phased approach to improving eating disorder services through engagement with clinicians and also with those living with eating disorders and the families and friends who support them.
Last year, the NHS undertook a consultation with service users, carers, clinicians and managers to identify key areas of common priority in service development. The NHS also strengthened links between the Eating Disorders Open Forum for service users and carers and our National Service User and Carers Forum. This has resulted in successful engagement and consultation with service users and carers on a range of service improvement work.
The NHS led Eating Disorder Sub-Group is also reviewing its membership to strengthen Service user and carer involvement.
