Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Climate Change
All Councils have duties under Section 6 of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 to protect and enhance biodiversity. The hedgehog is a species of principal importance for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing biodiversity. We have produced a number of guidance documents on the duty including good practice guide and a FAQ document.
If members of the public have concerns about any particular pond, these should be referred to local Council officials or Councillors. Local Councils and members of the public can seek also advice from the Wildlife Trust for the area and/or the Freshwater Habitats Trust (was called ‘Pondlife’) Home page - Freshwater Habitats TrustFreshwater Habitats Trust
