What costs were associated with the development of the Wales Coastal Path app?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Climate Change
To date, development costs for this application stand at approximately £60,000.
The app was refreshed in 2022 and will continue to be improved with more visitor information this year, the 10th anniversary year of the Path.
We know that users of the Coast Path contribute significantly to local economies. Natural Resources Wales’s 2015 Visitor Survey estimated coastal walking generated approximately £271.4 million of gross added value to the Welsh economy in 2014. NRW’s 2019-21 visitor survey estimates an average spend of £10 per person for day visitors travelling in a group and £33 for those staying overnight.
