Will the basic income for care leavers pilot in Wales apply to those young people who have left care but are in a 'When I am Ready' arrangement?

The Basic Income Pilot in Wales will be available to those who have left care but are in a “When I am Ready” arrangement as long as:

• Their 18th birthday falls within the set 12-month timeframe; and

• Following their 18th birthday they will be classed as a category 3 care leaver as defined in the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014.

I will be giving an oral statement next month where I will confirm full details of the pilot.
