Further to the Deputy Minister's responses to WQ85342, WQ85343 and WQ85344, what plans does the Welsh Government have to amend Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 to allow trials of e-scooters in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Climate Change
We have no current plans to amend Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 to allow the trials of e-scooters in Wales. We have previously consulted with local authorities in Wales to ascertain what interest there was in participating in the trials. As there was no interest, there was no requirement to amend the regulations.
We will continue to engage with the UK Government’s Department for Transport (DfT) and consider what, if any, amendments to regulations should be made in future.
