How much funding has the Welsh Government provided for Ukrainian refugees to learn Welsh?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Education and the Welsh Language
I allocated £100,000 to enable the National Centre for Learning Welsh to develop a range of resources for asylum seekers and refugees to learn Welsh through different languages. Ukrainian is one of the seven languages selected. The resources will be available in September.
The Centre is keen to welcome everyone to learn Welsh and can develop courses and resources for specific groups if there is a demand. The Centre will promote the new resource to people from Ukraine from September onwards, and will monitor its use to see if more resources or further lessons need to be developed specifically for individuals from Ukraine.
