What are the expectations of the Welsh Government in respect of the proximity of new 200m plus onshore wind turbines to private properties in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Climate Change
The largest wind turbine proposals are likely to be matters for Welsh Ministers to determine. The assessment criteria for Developments of National Significance set out in Future Wales Policy 18 considers the potential impacts of wind turbines on sensitive land uses, such as nearby homes or communities, by carefully examining issues such as visual effect, noise, shadow flicker, reflected light, air quality, electromagnetic disturbance and landscape topography. The examination of these and the other criteria listed in Policy 18 by an appointed Planning Inspector from Planning Environment Decisions Wales will inform the determination of a schemes acceptability.
