Will the Minister make a statement on plans to build a railway station at Caerleon?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Climate Change
Transport developments in and around Caerleon are being considered as part of the work being taken forward in partnership between Transport for Wales and the Cardiff Capital Region, funded by Welsh Government. Using the Metro Enhancement Framework a study into transport connectivity in strategic corridors between Newport and Monmouthshire and the Eastern Valleys is taking place, and will provide recommendations on how to improve regional public transport connectivity.
This investment will, however, still require UK Government to fulfil its obligations to fund rail infrastructure across Wales if we are to see the rail network that people in Wales need and deserve.
