Will the Minister provide an update on the planned solar farm at Cardiff Airport?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Climate Change
The proposed development of East Aberthaw Solar Farm (35MW) on land at Fonmon, to the west of Cardiff Airport, is at pre-application stage in the Developments of National Significance (“DNS”) process. As the Welsh Ministers are responsible for determining DNS applications, I am unable to provide any further comment on the proposal. A report will be prepared and submitted to me in due course by Planning & Environment Decisions Wales. As the proposal progresses through the statutory process, updates will be made available on the PEDW website.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council approved a planning application by Cardiff Airport for a 1MW solar farm in July 2020. If you require further information on this scheme or updates on its progress, I advise you contact the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
