What is the Welsh Government doing to support shooting sports and conservation in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Rural Affairs and North Wales, and Trefnydd
The Welsh Government does not support the shooting of live quarry as a leisure activity.
With regards to conservation, the Welsh Government is investing nearly £15m in our Nature Networks Programme in 2022/23. The aim of the programme is to improve the condition and connectivity of our protected sites network and to restore the condition of key habitats to ensure plants and animals are more resilient to climate change. It will also make an important contribution to delivering our 30x30 target of protecting and effectively managing at least 30% of our land, freshwater and sea for nature by 2030 as recommended by the recent biodiversity deep dive.
