What discussions has the Minister had with health boards regarding promoting greater awareness of mastoiditis?

I have had no specific discussions with health boards however I would encourage anyone with earache with a fever or tenderness behind the ear not to ignore symptoms and to seek an appointment with their GP or Advanced Audiology Practitioner in primary care as soon as possible.
Mastoiditis is extremely rare in adults and is most commonly seen in young children, with the majority being in the under-5 age group.
A review of the current Acute Otitis Media in Children pathway is underway at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board with the view to full roll out.
