What steps is the Welsh Government taking to improve public awareness surrounding FAST (face, arms, speech, time) test stroke symptom identification?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Health and Social Services
I recently met with the Stroke Association Wales, and we discussed the importance of raising public awareness of the symptoms of Stroke and the role of the FAST campaign. Following this, and in collaboration with the Stroke Association Wales, Welsh Government promoted the FAST campaign on Social Media channels on World Stroke Day.
Following a subsequent conversation with my officials, the Stroke Association and the National Stroke Programme Team are exploring opportunities with Public Health Wales to re-run the FAST campaign. They are also in discussion with NHS England about potential opportunities to collaborate on future FAST campaigns to further improve public awareness.
