The National Peatland Action Programme is funded by Welsh Government and delivered by Natural Resources Wales. The programme is divided into priority themes which reflect key areas where action is needed to simultaneously address the nature crisis and climate change emergency. The programme has delivered restoration action on over 1650 hectares of peatland in its first two years (2020-22), surpassing its initial restoration targets of 600-800 hectares each year.
