What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the potential impact of Vivrail’s decision to appoint administrators on Transport for Wales’ plans to introduce Vivarail Class 230 diesel multiple units?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Climate Change
Transport for Wales purchased the fleet of five class 230 trains from Vivarail, so the impact of Vivarail entering administration is reduced compared to the impact on other operators who have leased similar trains from them. Transport for Wales will continue to work closely with Vivarail and the administrators on plans for future maintenance of the fleet and their focus remains on delivering increased services on the Wrexham to Bidston Line as soon as it is possible to do so.
