What is the Welsh Government doing to ensure that a variety of viewpoints are represented on Welsh Government bodies and other public appointments?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan First Minister (Mark Drakeford)
We are working with partners to facilitate mentoring and shadowing opportunities to help build a pipeline of people from a wider range of backgrounds, more representative of communities across Wales, who are interested in applying for a board position, to provide a richer, more diverse breadth of talent and lived experience.
In 2021, we recruited 13 senior independent panel members from across Wales to join recruitment panels for some of the most significant public appointments in Wales. Members have shared their knowledge and expertise (including lived experience) to enrich and add value to ensuring fair recruitment practices and processes within the public appointments process.
