Will the Minister consider splitting the Welsh Building Safety Strategic Stakeholder Group so that the immediate challenges are considered separately to future risks?

In many cases, the people we need to engage with are the same for both our remediation and reform programmes, and we wish to align these groups to be able to use their time effectively. However, the two elements of work will be dealt with as separate agenda items so the focus of each element of the meeting is clear.
Stakeholder engagement is at the core of our approach to ensure our policy development for building safety is informed, effective, robust and based on clear evidence. Obtaining the expert views, advice and support of our stakeholders is critical to the successful delivery of our Building Safety Programme.
In respect of the recent incident at Victoria Wharf, whilst I cannot comment on the cause, I am pleased to confirm the fire service responded quickly, it was contained within one apartment, and no one was injured.
Remediation of fire safety issues in these buildings is a priority for the Welsh Government, and I continue to urge Managing Agents to ensure our surveyors are able to access buildings as soon as possible to identify the works needed to make buildings safe for residents.
I have arranged a meeting with the Managing Agent of Victoria Wharf in the New Year to discuss access issues.
I am committed to addressing building safety in Wales and continue to take forward our building remediation programme, alongside a significant programme of reform to establish a fit for purpose building safety regime in Wales.
