A major theme of the second report from the expert Homelessness Action Group was ensuring a workforce that is valued and supported. This is reflected in our Ending Homelessness Action Plan. A workforce task and finish group has been established under the Ending Homelessness National Advisory Board to consider the factors required to attract and retain staff working in this highly challenging environment. This work is being taken forward in collaboration with the sector and frontline workers.
On 6 February 2023 we will be launching a Homelessness Recruitment Campaign to encourage people to apply for jobs in the homelessness and housing support sector. The campaign, in partnership with Cymorth Cymru, will signpost people to a range of jobs in the sector and emphasise the value of these roles. A range of approaches will be taken to promote the campaign such as social media, radio adverts, train station, bus and supermarket advertising as well as job boards and job fairs.
