All students studying at a university in Wales, irrespective of their domicile, will benefit from the funding provided by Welsh Government to HEFCW to support higher education in Wales. In 2022-23 this amounts to more than £218m currently.
This funding includes a specific allocation of £2m in support of health and well-being services and a recent additional allocation of £2.3m to support measures to address the impact on student of the cost-of-living crisis.
Welsh Government funding also provides institutions with the means to provide other specific services, such as study bursaries, hardship funding and financial advice, as well as a range of other services which are available to all students to support them during their studies.
