Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Climate Change
The Welsh Government has not provided comment on the application. The application is for an electricity distribution licence under section 6(1)(c) of the Electricity Act 1989 authorising it to distribute electricity to any premises within the area of Great Britain, the territorial sea adjacent to Great Britain or in a Renewable Energy Zone. The licence is not attached to any specific project.
The Gas and Electricity Markets Authority, as regulator of the electricity market, has an established process for determining whether an applicant is a fit and proper person to hold a licence. The Welsh Government does not have a formal role in the process.
