Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Social Justice
We are in the early stages of reviewing the recommendations made by the British Deaf Association (BDA) in its audit report of Welsh Government, which was published on 14 February 2023.
We welcome the audit report and recognise the need to take an intersectional approach in responding to the recommendations. Taking forward action requires a long-term plan for change and will require sustained commitment and focus. Some of this work will be taken forward by the Disability Rights Taskforce and other elements will be progressed now.
Our Disability Rights Taskforce includes Deaf British Sign Language users who provide lived experience to working groups. The working groups’ co-produced recommendations will form an action plan, to help improve the lives of disabled people in Wales.
