What consideration has the Welsh Government given to the implementation of street votes in relation to housing policy in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Climate Change
We have not given consideration to this matter as the planning system in Wales already provides opportunities for local communities to influence future development decisions through the Development Plan process and more specifically through the production of Place Plans. Place Plans can provide important local detail and guidance on a range of areas affecting communities. Place Plans provide an opportunity for communities to work with local planning authorities (LPAs) in the plan making process, at a local level, to support wider Placemaking initiatives and aspirations of the local community. Place Plans can be adopted by the LPA as Supplementary Planning Guidance to the adopted Local Development Plan (LDP).
