As with all Local Authorities who are working to meet the next 70% minimum recycling target by 2024-25, the Welsh Government is working closely with Torfaen Council, supporting it in developing the infrastructure it needs to provide an efficient, effective, and comprehensive recycling service. The Welsh Government has agreed ‘in principle’ to support up to 50% of the final tendered price of extending Torfaen’s recycling facility, subject to a cap of £2m and further work being undertaken by the Authority on the performance improvements that will be delivered.
