The Welsh Government’s Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Programme funds Risk Management Authorities (RMA’s), namely Natural Resources Wales and Local Authorities, to deliver flood schemes in Wales.
The programme prioritises investment towards schemes which reduce risk to life by benefiting homes in the most at-risk communities. This is set out in our National Strategy.
This year we are investing over £75m – the highest level of funding ever provided in Wales in a single year, we have published the list of schemes being funded with an accompanying map here and interactive map providing more detail on the schemes included within the programme. The published programme includes the estimated property numbers benefitting.
