Our National Mission: high standards and aspirations for all, outlines our commitment to launching a new Digital Education Plan (DEP) in Autumn 2023.
The DEP will focus on the key areas of:
• Education Technology
• Workforce and Professional Learning
• Leadership
• Curriculum, Qualifications and Assessment
and will set out how these areas need to work together, as a whole, in order to meet the ambitions for digital education in Wales.
The first priority for the DEP, therefore, is to equip practitioners with the skills, confidence, and experience to support all learners to achieve the level of digital ambition and ensure that the skills of our learners align with the very best countries in the world.
Hwb provides a suite of digital tools and services that support our practitioners to confidently embed a culture of digital practices in schools, while inspiring practitioners to confidently enhance and embed their digital skills and knowledge. Working with a range of global partners such as Adobe, Google, Microsoft and Apple, we facilitate access to sector-leading professional learning opportunities supported by bespoke communities of practice in Wales.
We have invested over £180 million in schools to transform their digital landscape, recognising the importance of robust digital infrastructure in learning. This investment is underpinned by the national education digital standards to ensure that technology is fit for purpose, safe and secure. It is complemented by professional learning to support the teaching profession to maximise the benefits of the classroom tools and services provided as part of the Hwb programme.
