What representation has the Welsh Government made to the Low Pay Commission regarding the potential merits of increasing the minimum rates of pay for apprentices?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Economy
The Low Pay Commission, has recently invited the Welsh Government to provide evidence to the Commissioners who will be making recommendations to the UK government on the future of the Apprentice Rate, including considering whether to retain or remove the separate rate.
Whilst the Welsh Government will provide evidence to the low pay commission, it will ultimately be the decision of the UK Government to increase the minimum rates of pay for apprentices.
