The ‘Robert Owen’ Pilot Project, on Co-operatives and Careers within the world of work, is a one-year pilot project funded by Welsh Government for 2023-2024. Its aim is to raise awareness and understanding of co-operatives in primary and secondary schools across Wales.
The pilot will support delivery of the ‘Careers and Work-Related Experience’ strand of the new curriculum for schools in Wales, providing a focus on understanding the role of co-operatives within the economy and will focus on issues such as social impact, health and wellbeing, fair work, and a greener environment. The pilot is in its early stages of development, and officials are finalising the remit and considering the evaluation.
