What discussions has the Minister had with Adventure Travel regarding the reductions in the C1 route bus services in Cardiff, following the Government's announcement for funding for bus services in Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Health and Social Services
It is the responsibility of local authorities to provide a service which they consider to be socially necessary which the commercial market is not providing. Part of Welsh Government’s £25m annual Bus Services Support Grant supports local authorities with the costs of these services. In this financial year we have made a further £46m available to support operators and protect our Traws Cymru network.
I understand that discussions have taken place between the operator, regional lead local authority and constituent authorities on this service. Similar services however already operate in the area by another operator without the need to provide additional funding.
