Will the Minister confirm how many trees have been felled on public land in Wales to make way for wind farms and pylons since 2000?

Atebwyd gan Minister for Climate Change
Our most recent figures indicate that 810 hectares of trees have been cleared on the Welsh Woodland Estate for wind farm development since 2000. Through business as usual we have restocked 211 hectares; there is a total area of 209 hectares required for compensatory planting (footprint of built infrastructure etc); and 390 hectares which will become mosaic habitat management areas, including naturally regenerated woodland and blanket peat bog.
