The Welsh Government provides each local authority in Wales with a Period Dignity Grant, which now totals over £3.9 million annually. The purpose of the grant is to ensure that free products are available in every school, and throughout community settings such as food banks and pantries, libraries, youth centres, leisure centres and community hubs. Funding is also provided to Further Education colleges for the same purpose.
The Welsh Government also issued a notice to all schools ahead of the summer holidays to remind them to allow pupils to take free period products home from school.
