What steps is the Welsh Government taking to dispose of the pre-application planning process for new affordable and rental-home developments?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Climate Change
The purpose of the pre-application process is to ensure that applicants, local authorities and communities are engaged in meaningful discussions ahead of the submission of planning applications. They help applicants gauge the level of support or concerns about their proposal, identify required changes or additional information that might need to be included in the application and clarify potential stumbling blocks or risks to the application’s success. They can also help to improve design and avoid costly mistakes later in the planning process. I have no plans to change the requirement for pre-application discussions.
