What consideration has been given to supporting podiatry training courses in north Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Health and Social Services
Further to my response to WQ89079, there is currently no provision for podiatry training in North Wales. The nearest location (geographically) is in Salford, with students from the University of Salford undertaking some of their clinical training within Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
Currently a degree in Podiatry (BSc Hons) is offered in Wales at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
There are no current plans to provide this training in North Wales, with the expansion of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at Bangor University but this may be something that can be considered in the future.
