What plan does the Minister have to tackle the issues facing rail passengers in light of Transport for Wales coming last in the Rail User Survey for customer satisfaction and when will those changes be implemented?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Climate Change
Transport for Wales (TfW) services are improving thanks to the £800m invested in brand new trains. 30% of the trains TfW now operate on the network are brand new providing increased comfort to passengers and improving reliability. The proportion of new trains will continue to rise as TfW accept a new train every seven to 10 days.
I regularly discuss performance with the Chair and CEO of TfW who are confident of sustained improvement for the rest of this year and into 2024. I will continue to monitor this and hold them to account for the services provided to customers.
