Will the Minister provide a breakdown of how many of those assigned as male and female at birth have transitioned into the opposite sex in each age group?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Social Partnership
I refer you to the answer I gave to your questions WQ89362 and WQ89363 which included information on where data can be found on the number of people in Wales who identified in the 2021 Census with a gender identity different to their sex registered at birth.
The number of people in Wales who have changed their legal sex with a gender Recognition Certificate is unavailable. Gender Recognition Certificates are issued by the Gender Recognition Panel which is a branch of HM Courts and Tribunals Service, and statistics on the number of certificates issued by the panel in the service’s quarterly Tribunal Statistics Publication do not include a breakdown for Wales.
