Natural Resources Wales (NRW) does not levy fines. Any fines which result from NRW's enforcement actions (prosecutions) are imposed by the courts and are paid into the Central Governments’ Consolidated Fund.
NRW’s enforcement actions have significantly increased in recent years and the courts have imposed a combined total value of over £2.4m in relation to environmental infringements.
