What discussions has the Minister had with car manufacturers about the potential effect on motor vehicles when driving at 20mph for extended periods of time?

Atebwyd gan Minister for Climate Change
Car manufacturers have not raised concerns with me about this issue, nor am I aware of any evidence from places such as London and Spain, where lower speed limits are now established, that there is an increased impact on motor vehicles. Slower driving speeds cause less wear and tear to vehicles, due to the reduced acceleration and braking required to drive at 20mph.
