Atebwyd gan Minister for Rural Affairs and North Wales, and Trefnydd
Support and encouragement for new entrants into the farming industry has been provided through agriculture support programmes such as Farming Connect and Start to Farm (formally known as Venture). During the past 12 months 368 individuals are participating in Start to Farm. (306 seekers and 62 providers)
The Welsh Government will continue to provide support and encourage new entrants into the agricultural industry through these programmes in 2024. All eligible new entrants are also able to apply for any agricultural support schemes, as they become available.
From 2025, the proposed Sustainable Farming Scheme will be available to all types of farms and will support new entrants to develop in the industry and establish sustainable businesses.
