How many people in Wales are currently living in flats with dangerous cladding?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Minister for Climate Change
Cladding is only one of several fire safety issues that may be present in a building. However, unlike England, work in Wales is not limited to buildings with cladding.
All residential buildings over 11 metres high in Wales have a route to remediation irrespective of the presence of cladding. Wales is the only nation who can make this commitment.
Since September 2021, 194 buildings have been identified which require intrusive surveys. These surveys identify any fire safety issues present, and any further steps to rectify them.
