What is the Minister doing to ensure that developers are required to complete remediation works in a timely manner?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Deputy Minister for Climate Change
All the Developers who have signed the contract are obliged to produce quarterly progress reports to Welsh Ministers. Officials meet with Developers to scrutinise and challenge the information provided, including timescales, progress, and any barriers to the completion of works.
My officials regularly raise questions from leaseholders to developers where appropriate, and further use the correspondence we receive to challenge developers during the routine contract monitoring process.
I met with developers on 18 January to impress upon them my expectations for remediation to be completed as quickly as practicable and to understand any barriers and challenges where delays are being experienced. I will be further meeting with Managing Agents and Freeholders in January to work with them in removing any barriers to cooperation with developers.
