What is the Welsh Government doing to support further education providers in west Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Education
Welsh Government allocated £104.165m of Mainstream funding to Coleg Sir Gar, Gower College Swansea, the NPTC Group and Pembrokeshire College in Academic Year 2023/24, allowing them to provide General Education and Vocational Learning at all levels from Entry Level to Level 4.
A Change Management Fund has been created to ensure that no Further Education college will see more than a -1% reduction in their Mainstream funding in 2024/25, when compared to 2023/24.
Financial Contingency Fund, Additional Learner Support and Learner Recovery and Progression budgets have all been protected in 2023/24, ensuring financial barriers are not preventing learners accessing or remaining in Further Education, and contributing to the support of learners with additional learning needs (ALN).
