Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Education
Our Curriculum and Additional Learning Needs reforms aim to ensure children and young people have their needs met in a timely way. A medical diagnosis is not required to ensure support is provided to a learner when they need it.
A range of Professional Learning and resources are available to education practitioners to support early identification, intervention, and prevention. This includes a Specific Learning Difficulties Framework with guidance on screening, assessment and intervention. This contains information aimed at helping teachers to identify learners who may have specific learning difficulties like dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia, and make appropriate adjustments to teaching practice and school/classroom environments.
