How is the Welsh Government ensuring that schools have the right acoustic environment for learners with additional learning needs?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Education
The Welsh Government has allocated £60 million of capital funding to local authorities to help optimise learning environments for those with ALN and increase accessibility to promote inclusive practice, support learning and pupil wellbeing. This funding is in addition to that allocated through the Sustainable Communities for Learning Capital Programme.
Any new build or refurbished schools must comply with stringent acoustic standards over and above what is set by Building Regulations. Acoustic design of schools: performance standards, Building Bulletin 93 requires these standards to be designed and proven in construction through acoustic commissioning.
