What action is the Welsh Government taking in response to the Welsh National Opera chorus strike?

Welsh Government support for the arts is channelled through the Arts Council of Wales (ACW) who operate at arm’s length from government.
My predecessor has met with several organisations in recent weeks including ACW, the Musicians’ Union and WNO itself to fully understand the situation. We are also in the process of convening a meeting of stakeholders, including funders, to explore a constructive way forward.
The Welsh Government is fully supportive of WNO’s work and we will do everything we can to ensure it continues to be one of Wales’ most prestigious arts organisations.
