How will the Welsh Government ensure it meets its target of 20,000 low carbon social homes for rent by 2026?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government
In the first two years of this Senedd term 5,775 homes have been delivered towards the 20,000 target. Over the summer, work has been undertaken with sector delivery partners to understand development pipelines. Partners tell us that there is a strong pipeline of homes in their programmes for this term of government.
We are working with sector to addressing the delivery risks for schemes facing delays or blockages where possible. To this end, I have written to Local Authorities and Registered Social Landlords in Wales setting out some of the things I think we can do to deliver as many homes as possible toward the target and received a positive response.
