What action is the Welsh Government taking to address long waiting times for orthopaedic surgery in North Wales?
Ateb
Atebwyd gan Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
Welsh Government is committed to hold the NHS accountable to deliver on the national priority to reduce NHS witing times.
Long waits for orthopaedic treatment in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board have fallen by 74% since April 2022.
I expect to see continued improvement through increased activity, service redesign and increased efficiency via recognised good practice as highlighted in the Get it Right First Time (GiRFT) review.
The Welsh Government has invested in the development of a regional orthopaedic centre in Llandudno Hospital.
